Is Marine Creek Lake a good Lake for catfish? What are the best baits to use for them there?

I’ve fished there a few times but the bottom is covered in heavy, black vegetation of some sort. If you can cast far enough to get in deep water you may be able to get past it. Or maybe try a Texas catfish rig that floats the bait off the bottom. Either way, I always had about two pounds of the stuff on my weight/hook every time I reeled in.
