I'm wondering if all the newer trolling motors now have spot lock features or is this just for the Minn Kota? Thanks

Other brands besides MinnKota offer spot lock feature but you can also still get motors without the feature.......BUT WHY?

Spot lock and iTrack are my two favorite features. On the Tn River, I can record a route, play it back and just sit in the boat while the TM does all the work.

If yours doesn't have it and all you have is a cheap 5 speed get the Autoboat GPS Pro Anchor System.

I got talked into an iPilot on my previous boat, even though I had specified a tiller model TM. I hated that thing. Spot Lock was the only feature I liked about that motor, but I rarely needed it. Working docks & rocks for snook, or chasing tarpon at the jetties or in the surf, a remote controlled TM is worse than useless; it's a hindrance. I preferred a tiller motor on the bass boat, and it's even better on my poling skiff. But most of my fishing is in less than a foot of water, and the TM is rarely mounted on the boat. And if any of you other TM part-time users are considering a Power Pux, I can heartily recommend it after over six months of using it. I love mine. It's so nice to have no plugs or wires on the deck to snag my fly line.

I bought the ultrex couple years ago. First time getting it on the water 2 weeks ago. Damn was I being spoiled. Throwing magdrafts for smallies and wind blowing 12-15mph....that was probably the funnest day on my magnum 197 boat handling wise. World of difference. Ain't no going back now.

Every brand has a spot lock feature in certain models.
