Yeah Jerry isn't all in on winning for sure. Never has been. If he was, first thing he'd do is fire his GM

What a novel idea, tank for a couple of years ( after three 12 - 4 seasons in a row ) so you can get higher draft picks, tell all your players to not play hard, try and lose, I bet that would go over really well, wonder how the veteran players are going to feel about that ? So the Bears are set for 10 years at QB ? Will he be a first ballot hall of famer ? To borrow a quote from Bill Parcells to Tony Romo, " You remind me of a football in tall grass " What does that mean ? LOST ! Not saying to tank. Never said that. It was three 12-5 seasons. Dak hasn't been 12-4 or better since his rookie year. I did say you have no functional use in signing guys that aren't part of your next super bowl squad. Dak, Zeke, etc. have no place on a cowboys super bowl roster. So get rid of them, sign your young talent long term (Parsons, CD, etc.). And starting trying to find young guys you can build around rather than sign veterans who are good enough to keep you out of the mix for the top 20 draft talents every year, but not good enough to win a playoff game. In the midst of replacing above average veterans with younger guys who may not be as good, you are likely to have a year or two without elite records, which buys you a chance at top draft talent, which we haven't had in a long time. Again, not saying to tank. But I am proposing to manage the team as if your goal is a super bowl - not just to avoid a bad year or two because you're afraid you might make a few less bucks for 5 minutes.

Did you claim the same thing about Tyler Smith, Micah Parsons, Travis Frederick ?? They only got 5 years out of Frederick. I'd stop using that as an example.

The pick was a great pick, they were beat up by the media sports and the fans for making the pick at the time, Cowboys cannot be held responsible for a player getting a disease.

Frederick was a fine pick. The problem is you can't get to #1 if you are letting 20 other teams pick guys in front of you for 7 rounds in a row, every single year.

But I am proposing to manage the team as if your goal is a super bowl - not just to avoid a bad year or two because you're afraid you might make a few less bucks for 5 minutes. No matter what you believe , the Cowboys think they are good enough or close to being good enough to win a SB, they are going to try and field the best team possible until it is obvious they need a rebuild. I do not feel like they are on the cusp of winning a SB, I feel like they are trying to win without having to tear the team down and start all over, until the Dak saga plays out they will keep doing what they are doing, he is good enough to keep them above 500 and a play off team. You talk about developing young players, if I am not mistaken they are one of the youngest teams in the NFL, you talk about drafting a young QB, they have Lance who is only 22, the O and D lines are being rebuilt with young talent. I think something is going to happen in the next two years with Dak , maybe they will fail badly this year then your wishes could happen.

How did the Patriots manage to do that ? How are the Chiefs doing that ? All the Cowboys and about 25 other teams need is a Brady or Mahomes, problem is, only one or two of those guys come around every 5 - 10 years.

Cowboys are falling further behind. They will have some top 5 draft picks very soon.

….and for the love of sweet baby Jesus, do not blow it on a running back that might be good for three years.
