Planning a trip to Fork in late Sep or early to mid Oct and want to avoid any major tournaments. Can anyone tell me what’s scheduled during that timeframe. Thanks in advance, Dick

The mid week bite is the best. I fished it for a few decades and worked shift work for part of it and learned no matter what is going on Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days to fish it. Why? They are the furthest days from the previous weekend. It's when it is the most rested.

The only "big" one is the Berkly on the 19th and 20th. There are weekly events and other less publicized, but the draw for those is reasonable.

Sealy Big Bass September 20-22. THSBA tournament Oct 12 (150-200 boat tournament). Berkley Big Bass Oct 19, 20.

Go before the Sealy big bass or don't go at all during that time frame. The string of tournaments starting with the Sealy through the Berkley Big Bass is really hard on the lake. That overwhelming amount of pressure makes the bite really really tough during that time period. Most of the guides don't even fish it much after the Sealy.

Extra brutal. It’s one month I would avoid. Go in later October.
