Headed to the Fairyland coast in a couple of weeks. Meeting friends near Escondido/San Diego area. I know Lake Dixon is nearby. Anyone know a good guide in that area? Better lakes than Dixon?

Lake Dixon is shore fishing only. You can rent boats on El Cap, San V, or Lake Jennings. Unfortunately, Lake Hodges is closed for dam repair.

I fished San V and El Cap when I was out there visiting a buddy in the marines. We took his Stratos

Just being out there is worth everything. Those lakes are absolutely gorgeous compared to the mud holes here

They have boat rentals at Lake Dixon. When I went the lake was a bit low, and I wasn't going to rent a boat. If I go back, I will this time.

Thanks boys. Flying in so I'm not bringing any gear. I'll have to hire out a guide for a day. Any of you used a guide out there?

I've never used him but if I was going to the area, I would check with Todd Kline. I've enjoyed his interviews on various podcasts that I've listened to. Seems like a good dude that I would enjoy being in the boat with.
