Looks like the Toyota winner gets $33k and the Bassmaster open angler wins about $17k. Much smaller fields at bass though, no?I’ll take 17k for beating 81 others over 34k for beating 192 at Toyotas. So assuming you could win either, you'd take the lesser amount? If I knew I was gonna win, I'd take the bigger payout.

The Toyota at Chick has a 187 boat... The BASS Open at Logan Martin has 193... They're a 162 miles apart... If I understand correctly, to qualify for the Elites you have to fish all 9 BASS Opens and finish in the top 9... The Toyota's... You have to fish 3 tournaments in whichever region you choose,(there's 5 regions) finish in the top__ to qualify for the year end championship... I guess it depends on your end game... If you're fishing all 9 BASS Opens you're definitely trying to make the Elites... With the Toyota's you can fish 3 regional tournaments qualify for the Championship and start planning for next year... It's good to have choices... Dan

I've done the co-angler thing twice and if you've never played at this level and have ambitions on being a boater/pro angler I highly recommend it. You'll find out real quick you aren't near as smart as you think you are. The biggest thing I learned wasn't so much how to fish; I had that down, but time management. As far as fishing with an angler with FFS, neither occasion I had to deal with that but the way I fish I really don't think that would matter all that much. Rig up a C-Rig, a finesse jig, a Texas rig worm, medium diving crankbait, and a squarebill and fish mainly the starboard and port sides of the transom fan casting about a 45 degree area off both. I put two or three fish in the boat before either angler did and caught more than one of them. How did I learn this? My wife taught me.

Is there a championship that co’s can make at the end of season in MLF ? yes...and that might be a major reason that Toyota series has double the co-angler participation that BASS opens do......

Looks like the Toyota winner gets $33k and the Bassmaster open angler wins about $17k. Todays Pro Toyota winner got $44,000... No bonus money Todays Pro Open winner got $44,150... $750 in bonus money Todays Co Toyota winner got $34,000... Shows no bonus money Todays Co Open winner got $9,543... $250 in bonus money So there you have it... Similar field size and the same money... Dan

Dan if your numbers are correct, there is huge difference in co-angler winning amounts...plus Toyota has a year end championship for co-anglers... BASS open co-angler winner $9,543. Toyota Co-angler winner $34,000.

I ran into a friend of my dad's from years ago yesterday and asked him how his co angler tournaments have been going.
He showed me a pic of whatever pro he was fishing with on Pickwick Lake. Dude was starring down at his Livescope. He told me "this is all I got to see the entire tournament, I'm done with it."
Hasn't fished a tournament yet in 2024

Co anglers should have to tip their boater a percentage of winnings The organization should charge an extra 500 to give to any boater that has one

I’d like to be a coangler so I can help the pro keep count of how many fish he or she has in the livewell.

Come on Bear... There were only 81 co's fishing the BASS Open... Toyota's had 187 co's... So yeah, the payout was MUCH bigger fishing the Toyota... Simple math... If I was a Co fishing the Toyota's, I'd demand entry fees, room, board, beer and 20% of any winnings my pro cashed... Dan
