My wife and I participated in the Brazos River Authority Water Safety Event today. Texas Parks and Wildlife and several other organizations participated. The event included the opportunity for kids to fish. I always enjoy the smiles and screams when a kid catches their first fish. These events are sponsored by different organizations throughout the state and they will usually allow people to volunteer to help with the kids. It is also a good way to meet other anglers. Organizations that sponsor these types of events help to teach a new generation of anglers.

Those are great fun. I helped out at an event several years ago and helped a 13 year old kid break my water body record carp record by netting his 17 pounder. Game warden was there to witness the process for the kiddo.
