Solid post and some solid fish. I would say that the new Gulp Alive color got some mighty fine results. Good job Steve. Side Note: Glad to see you catching those Fayette SLABS!

Nice job Steve and great pictures. I seen you out there parked on that spot. We were all over the lake looking for new areas and was able to mark a few. Caught one nice size fish before hitting the spot you vacated where we caught over 40. Every bass fisherman we seen was dragging them in right and left. The cast netters were out in force also. When we seen them coming our way, we pulled up the lines and sat there with the spot lock on until they went around us. We seen them put a large fish in their boat; pretty sure it was a bass. They got quiet when they noticed us watching.

Thanks Chuck... Zane...Last year the sunfish started showing up at your favorite spot near Park Prairie on 5/8. Also, I did see sings of early activity in 3 different areas...Yep...the bass fishing is on fire right now...wish I could cash in...maybe next year.

The one in particular that I have consistently registered as a hybrid sunfish is #4. I'm with you that it is a hybrid of a bluegill and redear because of that opaque brownish edge on the ear flap. I haven't gotten a clear answer on that from TPWD though, they just call them hybrid sunfish. What's interesting is that they stocked hybrid sunfish that are green x bluegill in one water body I fish and green x redear in another yet I have never caught any in those water bodies. I do catch them frequently in farm and golf course ponds though.

Jamie...I have not caught a green sunfish since the days of Dunlap...and don't think I have ever caught a hybrid greenie. Where were they stocked ?
