Ive been holding this back for a month..My partner for my texas team trail is my dear friend and has also fished with me quite a bit for fun and other series but when we went to prefish lake fork for the ttt something happened. We used the awesome new ramp and there were of course, quite a few people getting ready to prefish as so there were boats pretty much all over. Anyways we launched and before we took off my bud said he needed to run up to use the bathroom before we took off to prefish. Well my buddy is 6 foot 5 black dude and I dare you to meet someone nicer but anyways he went did his business but when he got back as we were idling out he looked a bit perturbed so I asked what was up. He said he hadn't heard it is a while but when he was going to restroom he said an older heavy women noticed him as she was leaving the restroom and called him a ni**er. When she didn't think he heard her said louder but with emphasis with the f word to make sure he heard her. My guys, I literally turned around and was ready to hurt a girl. He calmed me down and said it's just east texas nut I was livid. I wanted her description and what direction she was headed. No one talks to my friend like that. But he talked me down and we took off. I was absolutely flabbergasted and he isn't some DEI supporting loser. He's just who he is, a nice fun dude like anyone else. I can't stress how mad I was, I have a very specific circle of people I've been able to find in life that I cherish as friends and am very protective of each of them. I just, I just needed to tell someone what happened. And I know the bass forum can be a bit, uh, convoluted at best. I'm just so blown away it even happened. If that chick was your wife I have a girlfriend that would LOVE to [censored] meet her. I think I saw her. Long blonder hair and about 220 and 5'6 in jer 50s I believe. He wouldn't confirm because he saw how mad I was. He literally said, don't worry about her, I will pray her. What an honorable guy. When he said that I looked him in the eye and said, that's sweet sir, I'll pray for her too. I will pray she falls into a pit of broken glass with rattlesnakes in it. I was surprised at myself that I got so mad. Welp guess I'm crazy. There it is. What would yall do?

I am sorry your friend experienced that. I will never understand hating someone due to the color of their skin, or for some other reason beyond their control. Unfortunately, this junk does still exist, but is not as rampant as it once was. No call for that and hopefully someday that lady will pull her head and her heart out of her ***.

Sucks for her. If she had a 5 minute conversation with him she would be laughing and hugging him by the end of it. He's a great guy.
