What kind of rod do yโ€™all like to use for a Carolina rig/jig rod? Iโ€™m thinking a 7โ€™4 Heavy Fast Lowrider. Is that a good action/power? Never have thrown a C rig and want to get into it. Would also like to double as a good jig rod

Long and fast tip. Flouro 17 or 20 braid with a 15lb flouro leader. Don't overthink it, you can use the same rod you would use for a jig. Pick up favorite rod, and just use it. Confiddence in a rod goes a long way.

Have been playing with a new GLX. But going back to Reneau Tackle. Sheโ€™s building me a LPC 580 in 7โ€™6.

A Dobyns 734 or 744 are good ones also.

Falcon Low Rider is another good one.

Just remember that with a longer rod youโ€™re dragging it further with every move. If you never have fished rigs start with a shorter rod to start.

I have two of them and use them for everything but their intended purpose.

I use a 7โ€™3โ€ Falcon Lowrider Amistad for c-rig. I use the Falcon Lowrider 7โ€™2โ€โ€™heavy cover jig for jigs. The 7โ€™2โ€ can work for a C-rig too, I just prefer the longer cast with the Amistad. They fish about the same.

Falcon Amistad Cara. It's a good all-purpose flipping rod as well.

You notice a difference between a 7โ€™2โ€™โ€™ and 7โ€™3โ€™ rod in terms of casting distance?
