I have a Deep cycle battery that will charge up BUT as soon as I take it off the charger it IMEDIATELY starts loosing voltage & without being connected to anything ! After charging it reads 12.4v then it begins to drop slowly. Shoot I only had the battery for approx.8-9 mos & I have no Idea what is causing this. Anyone have a clue? I don`t

If it’s lead acid check the water level, not that it matters because it’s already toast.

Sounds like a dead cell or two. Take it back where you bought it, should have some type of warranty.

Yes a fully charge battery should be around 13.0. As stated by GTrigg it sounds like a bad cell or two.

Think you guys are confused, a 12v lead acid battery is full at 12.3v and up. But if it’s dropping, it’s obviously bad.

A lithium is full at 13.6v.

I had to look this one up, an agm fully charged is 12.85v.

When I first got the battery it would sit @ 12.6v consistently so you are correct mr. grout scoutt! After a few charges it would start decreasing in voltage. Now it won`t hold a charge at all. I think i`ll just take it back .Thanks yous Guys thumb
