Had a mostly cloudy day yesterday, so set up the Go Pro for some movie making time. The colors turned out good, as was the fishing. Fished from 9 am until 2 pm and only fished for sunfish. Shoulder won't be strong enough for bass for a few months, but the bass guys were doing good. Did a lot of searching yesterday and it paid off. As Zane said...they are back in full swing. Tried 9 different areas and had big success in 4...catching 30, 20, 30 and 14 respectively. Could have easily caught 30 at the last spot, but it was 2 pm & that was my cutoff point. I typically stop at 30 in
any given spot & move on. Found another good colony in a 5th spot, but decided to not fish there due to other fishermen & cast netters in the area close by. Some things must be kept "close to the vest" except for those who are on a "need to know" basis. smirk Water temp was in the low 80s, wind was light & all fish were released. Every fish was caught on a Gulp Alive minnow in Starry Night color. Already looking forward to next week. walking Let me know if u have problems getting the video to play...Can never seem to get it right the 1st time since TFF changed how we load them...

Good to see you getting out Steve looks like your recovery progressing nicely. After watching many of your pan fishing videos over the past few years I am now convinced and see fishing for bluegill, etc in my future. 👍

Great video Steve. The spawn is coming alive.
I didn't mention this in my post the other day, but we caught a half dozen bluegill that were red breasted when we pulled them out of the water and before we could get the phone out to take a picture the redness was gone. Is this normal? Robert noticed the same thing.

Thanks Scott...they are just too much fun.
Zane...There really are not any true red breast on FCL...Like there are on Decker. Just native bluegill that have some red coloration. I think they are probably males strutting there stuff.

banana It's on!!! Next full moon is in 2 weeks and the first big spawn of the year on most of the lakes. And it sounds like those male bluegill are starting to show off their colors for the ladies.

Great video and report!!! We really appreciate them. thumb

Yes, it's normal. I see the same thing with other species. They always seem so colorful as you pull them up out of the water but by the time you take a picture the coloring is dulled. Then again, they sure seem far bigger as you pull them out of the water. Especially the ones that spit the hook and get away roflmao roflmao

Jamie, that was the craziest thing I've ever seen. I can't believe I never noticed it before. Thank you
