Insurance company has nothing to do with this any longer, sorry.
You had a claim and it was paid, the repair was not completed properly, not sure why people always thinks it’s the insurance companies responsibility to do everything.
You think of the insurance company pays you to replace your roof and you hire some cheap out of state roofer that does not install it properly it’s the insurance company responsibility to track that guy down and make him do it right, that’s just not how it works.

Wouldn't the first impact bring around a F' that, it's F'ed?
Buy another boat and stay away from the rocks.
What a repair to make stick. Repaired to factory standards.
Did anybody along in this process say anything about it being screwed?
Now this shop and the repairman have a thorn in their butt over accepting the job. People should have told the owner to walk.
Rocks??? Yeah, go away. It's not worth it and neither is your money.

TALK TO A LAWYER........the big picture is that you bought insurance to repair or replace your boat in case of an accident and the insurance company agreed to TRY to settle the claim by repairing the damage....the repairs did not work and now the insurance company has to try repairing again or replace the boat....if the insurance company told you not to have the boat repaired and offered you a cash settlement,,they might have a right to deny the claim but if they didn't,they should be still on the hook....again talk to a lawyer...

... So the story goes… The guy came on here with a lot to unload for his first post. ... nobody else thinks it’s weird that this is this guys first post? What was going through his mind? “ I’m pissed about my boat, so I’m going to blast a repair shop while I remain anonymous”... Where would you expect him to go... A bowling blog???... We talk bass boats... Talk and ask "what the best bait?" "What's the best FFS?"... What the best rod, reel setup?"... Why wouldn't he come to a bass boat blog and ask for advice about how to handle a boating predicament??? And nfhbass isn't exactly screaming I'm John Q. Public... Just sayin'... Dan

... they should be still on the hook....again talk to a lawyer... He picked the boat up and took it home. More or less agreeing/ approving that the boat had been fixed to his approval... The insurance company agreed and paid for the repairs. Not much more they can do without hold his hand at every juncture... And they may have if he had asked for their expertise... Dan

Once the insurance check shows up. Nothing says you have to use it for repairs.
What you can do, is use it for a down payment on another boat.
The same insurance company will continue to offer coverage.
Their hands are washed after you get the check.

Dan Maybe he should have climbed on here and asked for advice on which glass shop to go to. We heard one side of a story. And 1500 people have viewed this thread. I hope his story is true, if not the glass shop will easily be able to figure out who it is, and use it in court if this guy chooses to go to court…. Just a weird place to vent that kind of frustration, I’m not here to ask for advice on personal business, I mostly like to hear about what the most sensitive rod is and whether it should be 7’ or 7’1”.

talk to an attorney....find out what your rights are in this case and get good advice on what to do... yes that would be money well spent, unlike the dinero you gave to said fiberglass shop

The shop was Cedar Creek Fiberglass. I chose the shop not Progressive. the bad PR here might be well worth their time to make it right

Everyone is quick to want to roast and blast someone, can’t wait to hear the other side of the story.
I like to hear both sides first personally.

Why would you cruise around in a boat. That's been busted up on some rocks? What are you expecting?
Repairs You personally inspected before taken it out the second time.
No need to pay a lawyer.
Deep down, you're gonna need to accept the world doesn't woke like you'd expect.
It's OK.
Sorry about the boat you crashed into some rocks.
Peace.

Their hands are washed after you get the check. Who says he got an insurance check? More than once I’ve had insurance cut a check straight to a shop for a REPAIRED vehicle. I wanted my vehicle repaired not money for something else.

They'll sell your crashed ride back to you for what they paid on the policy. Same with a boat. Again. Once that check is cut. No matter who gets it. They're done with anything you'd want to complain at them.
