Is there a certain one you like? Do certain ones protect better than others? Are the floating ones worth it?

With the $$ you just invested I would do the floating covers and encase those in PVC wrapped in pool noodles.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

The Rod Gloves work fine for in a boat. Common sense and situational awareness is the king of rod protectors.

I like the Rod Warrior neoprene and 6th Sense neoprene. Have both. Rod Warrior is a veteran owned company so I supported them.
I hate the mesh..

I keep my Berkley Cherrywood rod in the big cardboard shipping tubes, don’t want to damage it!

I leave all my expensive rods in the safe. I paid too much to fish with them.

I hate the mesh.. This. Wide range of colors and lengths with Rod Warrior. Can get info embroidered on them or even a logo added for min fees. Veteran owned as well. I’ve been using them exclusively for several years now and love them. No more broken guides.

I've used a bunch - for mesh my favorites are Lake Fork Rod Sox (a bit slimmer/tighter fit to rod, and tighter mesh than brands) or G-SOX for Treble Hook Baits. But for Single Hook setups I've moved them all to Evolve Fishing Neoprene sleeves. They are not super thick like Rod Glove so easier to manage, have formed openings, tip protection, and a cord for attaching to reel... https://evolvfishing.com/https://kgsox.com/https://lftlures.com/products/rod-sox
