i've had dogs since 1960, outside/running around the naborhood, but in the past few decades, they've been more confined and a little better bred; that said, my newest pup is cruising around the backyard,
sniffing the grass, stopping and burying her nose to the roots of the grass; i finally caught her in the act of eating a worm~~~!!!~~~i guess with all the rain and the water level in the ground forced the worms
up and easy prey, but for a dog? anybody ever witness that from their canine?

Several of my neighbors dogs are having a feast on all the cicadas they find.
He is truly a sick individual.

Had a buddy that had a dachshund that ate dried worms on a regular basis. They just called it worm jerky.

Some mental giant abandoned some puppies near the railroad tracks near my neighborhood and my wife took one from the lady who found them and surprised me with it when I got home late Saturday night from the State championship on Cedar Creek. I had already planned to take him to the Vet after the weekend to have him checked out, micro chipped, shots ect...when he decided to give me a surprise of his own first thing on Monday morning. I was like "what the heck, I don't remember having any pasta on Saturday or Sunday. Then one of the "noodles" moved and it was off to the Vet immediately....poor dog. Vet said he had never seen them quite like that before and also confirmed that he was only about 9-10 weeks old. Believe he is a lab pitt bull mix, definitely more lab than pit bull (maybe even bull terrier). My sister rescues dogs so she sent me one of those DNA tests to send off and find out what breeds. Don't need a DNA test to figure out he is going to be a big and rather tall dog.. Anyway, he is all good now and I have started training him...he is goofy as heck but smart. Sorry, none of that was even remotely related to the original post. So my answer is "no, I have not seen my canine actually EAT worms...however...".

My neighbor’s Rottweiler had those and he never took the dog to the vet. Here’s a pic of the little feller playing in a creek. If you don’t get those worms taken care of they don’t just go away.

My hound will eat anything, chickens, snails, bugs, grass, human socks just to name a few. She is fed everyday. Remember the story “my dog ate my homework?” I completely believe that story now with this hound.
