I heard you need a permit to fish the surf south of Horace Caldwell Pier to Corpus.Does any one know of this and where do you get the permit.I will be there this weekend and dont want any surprises.Any info would be apreciated.

Are you talking about the beach parking permit? You'll need one to park on the beach in that area. Of course, you also need a fishing license either all water or with a saltwater stamp, but you don't need a special "fishing" permit for that area.

You need a Texas Fishing License with Saltwater Stamp. You may also need a beach parking permit for your vehicle.

You can get a beach parking permit at any gas station on the Island or at Academy they are $12 bucks and last through the end of the year.
