I want to give a shout out to a few guides on here that I have fished with the last several years, as tricks they have showed me worked nicely today. Keith Bunch-driftsock tip while in the 15-20 mph NE wind this morning. The driftsock slowed me from about .8 to 1.2mph to .35-.6mph. Seem to be a difference maker for me today with water temps that were at 49.8 to 51.0 degrees today. What stinks is our lake level deepest water is about 19 ft, but I found an area off of a point on the deep side that was helping me get those bites. JD your the first guide I used this technique with, and JV you have shared lots of information with me about it. My problem has been the last few years being unable to time it right on the home lake with lure making and being able to get out there. This was on Lake Altus,OK in 14 ft of water. Striped Bass Tackle I love those solid body hand poured flukes, they worked well on my homemade heads. So thanks to the TFF as techniques I have learned from others helped me yet again today. I am not going to post numbers so I dont have poachers coming on here and post there BS only to get me fired up and to watch my posts get deleted. So if you dont like my post crawl under a rock and look for your reflection.

Nice catch! I will second that sentiment about the forum and the tips given by the pro's and Joe's who share their expertise. Thank you all. thumb

Good catching beats working any day.

Don't worry about the numbers, most of the one trick ponies are waiting for the spring run now.

It ain't easy making it look easy.

Why to go Bryon.

Glad to see you're getting a little more time to fish these days.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Okay, I like this deadstick thing,,,but I am a little ticked today we only landed 3. But hey just got to get quicker with the trigger.
25in Lake Altus Hybrid

25in Lake Altus Wally

24in Lake Altus Wally

So total today only 74" of fish, but hey who keeps count right. Missed a few and had a couple others lost under the boat. What was sweet those 3 fish were caught within 10 ft of one another 16 ft of water in a matter of 10 minutes. So of late I havent been using the clicker :-) All with flukes, Redfin so yes they are biting. Air Temp 41 water temp 49.8.

Nice fish!! Hey Bryon one of the guides you mentioned, forgot which one, told me the "playing dead" trick only works on the Texas side. But I guess OK fish have the same level of intelligent as Texas' fish hehe! Good to see fishing reports from you instead of "working" slab reports. lol.
