Hi Guys,
I have a buddy that is coming in town for Thanksgiving and wants to go fishing. The only problem is that I dont fish in the fall/winter time, I hunt those times so I have no idea what to do or where to take him. I owe him a trip out since he took me to the coast. Can anyone help me and give me some pointers as to what to look for?

Should I be focusing on points this time of year? birds? Can a crank bait still work?

Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated, we will be out at Ray Roberts.

Thanks guys.

AggieRaf

It's been easy on RayRob lately. Just look for birds, they fish for a living. I prefer a slab with a fly tied above, but crank baits will boat them as well.

I was out there last saturday, found birds working by Isle de bois ramp. Be flexible had to try different tactics. Check out my post from last week. There is my report and some other fellows put some advise out there.

Good luck, let us know how you do.

No sweat AggieRaf! Hope you guys can get into them. I have been catching big blues each trip while slabbing for sandies. Talked to some other guys and they have been doing the same. Caught a 19 pounder a couple weeks ago, had to do a little dental work on him before letting him go. He had a huge hook in his lip from where he broke off a line.

I got out there today with my kids at the crack of 2:00, lol. Birds were working in several areas of the lake, with plenty of fish under them. Good luck.

Isle du bois ,if u have a good lake map or good electronics, humps @ isle du bois r loaded horizontal bounce off bottom , hold, shake and repeat will get easy limits fast. Slabs, silver cotton cordell, 3/4 ounce + flies above.
