I've never in my life fished out of a Ranger and didn't buy a Dobyns rod because of this forum. I buy Dobyns because even their Savvy series rods are very nice compared to more expensive companies. But your right asking for any type of advise on the tff here lately is only going to get you a smarta$$ comment or sarcasm.

I have always fished out of a Ranger and never used a dobyns rod. That kind of makes us like cousins or something. Right?

Just repair the eyelets on the Falcon unless you just want to stimulate the economy.

Anyone tried the 13 Fishing Omen rods? I'm almost curious enough to risk $120 and give one a try.

G-Loomis, bought my first one 20 years ago, nothing feels like a Loomis. I try to buy a new one every year. Worth every penny and then some!

Duckeet are pretty good. I have 5 and love em. Or get a custom rod build by someone on the forum. Trinity makes some sweet rods. You can always hit me up. The mhx blanks are sweet. The best thing about custom rods is u design em and they usually arnt more expensive than ur average quality stick.

The guides aren't made by the rod companies. All guides will loose inserts. Part of fishing. My Loomis GLX is missing one right now. Time to take it in for a new guide. They all do it!

I fish with Loomis, Dobyns, Falon, Shimano, and Duckett (I spread the love around) I like one for one application and one for another.....just got put your hands on them. These along with others mentioned are all quality rods.

This^^^^^^ I would just replace the tip guide with a SIC, it may not be an exact match with the other guides but will only cost you about $7.
