I get to fish anywhere in the country about ONCE a year with my buddy from Wyoming. I'm in St. Louis, he's in WY. We both have boats, but obviously, we use mine most of the time for largemouth. We fished a tourney here in MO this weekend (and got our arse kicked), but on the way home, we talked about future trips, like ALL of US do. We've been to Falcon, Fork, etc. We're wanting to find a place to go to, for like TWO DAYS that I can pull my rig to from St. Louis in less than 14 hours AND that he can fly to somewhere along the way or closeby.

BUT......the key is that we'd like to go to a place that looks like a jungle and has a CHANCE at a big bass. Somewhere with lots of visible cover, where the prime pattern is flipping T-rigs TO that cover.

The example that comes to mind is the Mark Zona show with a legend on Toledo Bend with lizaards or with Hackney, somewhere in AR, in the trees.

I'd LOVE your suggestions, as ther'es NOTHING like that in MO and I need something to research as the snow comes in MO for the next several months.

Thanks guys!

Try Caddo... Everything on that lake looks like a jungle and everything looks fishy. I know there are some big fish there too... I have caught some of them. Only been there once and would love to go back.

I would be drinking but I have a Fishing problem.

Caddo! Flipping is a must but throw in some top water and you'll have a very memorable trip! Beautiful, unique lake with great fish. That's my. 02

Wow!! As we were driving home from our tournament, I was talking about Caddo, ONLY because I have a guy that MIGHT put us up down there and knows the lake. I've NEVER even heard of of Caddo before about 3 years ago, when he worked with me.

If we do the Caddo thing................when's the best time for guys wanting to throw T-rigged baits and jigs at ALL the trees???? What month of the year?

Mudshark..............why?? And, I mean NO disrespect........just an info hog. Late may in Texas? Is that post spawn? Man, if so, in Missouri, this means tougher fishing as they pull back off the spawning areas. What are they doing in Caddo in late may?

Caddo can be a very fickle beast. Early spring the water is either way up or way down. By May the lake is much more stable. It's also well before it gets choked up in weeds.

Also, this is a very shallow lake unless you are in the river. They don't back up into deeper water because there is none. You can be running on plane in 3 feet of water all day.

I would still say Caddo. It's u like any other place you have ever seen. Stay for at least 3 days. You will figure it out eventually.

And, what I mean is...............please don't refrain from sharing an idea, now that Caddo is on the table. It'll probably be 2014 before we even plan a trip. MAN IT'S HARD TO FISH WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO BE ALL GROWN UP TOOOOO

Caddo is just down the road for Fork as well. If you get tied of pitching the weeds take the 30 minute drive to Fork. smile
