Forgive me if we have already covered this. If we have I missed it. When you are putting cups and glasses on the top rack of the dishwasher, are you supposed to put them in between the fingers or on top of them?

I will have a follow up question about Tupperware type of containers on the bottom rack in a bit.

I use the 'fingers' as a support for anything going in the dishwasher....top or bottom rack. If they fit between them great. If not they fit over a couple and between others. I've experienced stuff flying around the inside so I'm more careful

Which direction do you put utensils in the utensil basket? Handle up or handle down?

both depends on what I am loading in it.

I am single and the heat helps sanitize the dishes.
